When do I start weaning my baby onto solid food?

A. Simply avoid those foods where a known reaction or allergy is present.

If you have a preference for vegan, dairy free or red meat free then again avoid those foods listed.

If there is a family history of intolerance to certain foods, such as say whaet or dairy, then alternatives are possible, or tose included can be left out until the baby is much older - most intolerances will abate with age and in the caseof say peanuts or shellfish this can be lifelong, be aware and use a least risk approach.

For those that wish to avoid dairy, soya milk is often offered as subsititute however check with your medical or health profesional, we woudl normally avoid such food stuffs prior tothe age of 12 months, - but each case is different - if in doubt ask
